Club Brugge Koninklijke Voetbalvereniging is a football club from Bruges in Belgium. It was founded in 1891 and is one of the top clubs in Belgium. Its home ground is the Jan Breydel Stadium, which has a capacity of 29,997. Club Brugge's major rivals are R.S.C. Anderlecht and Standard Liège, and it shares the Jan Breydel Stadium with city rival Cercle Brugge K.S.V..

The birth of S.K. Roeselare arose seven years later. The same year (1921) it received the matricule n° 134 as it became a member of the national association. The other club from the town registered in 1923 as F.C. Roeselare with the matricule n° 286. However, this matricule does not exist anymore as K.S.K. Roeselare and K.F.C. Roeselare merged in 1999 to form K.S.V. and kept the n° 134.

In het laatste decennium van de 19de eeuw werd begonnen met georganiseerd voetbal in Gent. Verschillende clubjes zagen het daglicht, enkele zouden samensmelten tot Racing Club Gantois op 1 april 1899, een latere concurrent van AA Gent. Pas in 1900 werd door leerlingen van het College van Melle een voetbalsectie opgericht bij La Gantoise.

Zulte Sportief was founded in 1950 and directly became a member of the national association (matricule n° 5381). The club Zultse V.V. (with the same matricule) was started after the 1976 merger between Zulte Sportief and S.K. Zulte. In 2001, the team merged with K.S.V. Waregem, who had played in the first division for many years.

The club was founded in 1900 by students at the Saint-Servais High School in Liege, though an administrative error records the date as 1898. Their inspiration for the name was Standard de Paris, a popular Parisian club at the time.

Founded as Sporting Club Anderlechtois in 1908 by some football fans at the Concordia café (D'Aumalestraat in Anderlecht), the club beat Institut Saint-Georges in its first match (11-8). As they were winning most of their matches, the secretary decided to join the official competition in 1909. They began at the regional level and at the end of the season, they had already qualified to play in the higher division.

Cercle Brugge was founded on April 9, 1899 as Cercle Sportif Brugeois by former students of the Saint Francis Xavier Institute, colloquially known as De Frères (English: The Friars) in Bruges. Originally, the organisation focused on 5 sports: football, cricket, lawn tennis, running and cycling.

The club was founded in 1904, a few months after the birth of city rival K.R.C. Mechelen. The club had a first successful period in the 40s. During World War II, in 1943, the club won their first domestic title. The second title came a few years later, in 1946, and in 1948 the club was successful again.
